Meredith Brooks Meredith holds a B.A. from Dartmouth College where she majored in Studio Art. After graduation, she volunteered with the Peace Corps in Zanzibar, Tanzania as a teacher trainer in health topics. Meredith worked as a substitute and English teacher at the American International School of Bucharest and the International School of Bucharest and also worked at Canggu Community School in Bali, Indonesia as an English and art specialist teacher. Since returning to the United States, Meredith has been working in the nonprofit sector. She is eager to return to the field of education and is looking forward to working with the Norwood community.
Caroline Cook Caroline Cook is a graduate of Deerfield Academy and Brown University. She received her bachelors degree with honors in the History of Art and Architecture at Brown and spent her junior year at the Universitá di Bologna, Italy where she studied Renaissance art and history. Caroline speaks fluent Italian and continues to improve her command of Spanish. A citizen of both the US and the United Kingdom, Caroline lived and worked in London for 8 years following her graduation from Brown. When she reached her fifth year managing an independent real estate agency in London, she decided to enter the field of education and relocate to the Washington, D.C. area to pursue a masters degree through George Washington University. Caroline’s interests include international travel, reading, photography, golf and yoga. Having attended Powhatan School, an independent K -8 school in Clarke County, Virginia, where she grew up, Caroline is excited to join the Norwood community as an apprentice teacher.

Dawn Simpson Dawn holds a B.A. from New York University, where she majored in psychology. After graduation, she returned to Maryland and worked in substance abuse research before becoming a certified personal trainer and aerobics instructor. Before long, Dawn’s passion for children brought her to the position of Supervisor of the PromiseLand Preschool and K1 Kids programs at Church of the Redeemer in Gaithersburg, MD. In this position, Dawn gained invaluable experience working with volunteers, children and parents and realized her desire to teach elementary school. She is excited to acquire teaching skills and experience through the MATI program.
Tony Schueller Prior to becoming a teacher candidate, Mr. Schueller worked in standardized test development at the American Institutes for Research and, was a substitute teacher at the Jewish Primary Day School of Washington. He has also had considerable experience as a camp counselor and unit leader, at Camp Blue Star, in Hendersonville, NC. Mr. Schueller’s combined experiences working in education and with children made him decide to become a teacher. Mr. Schueller holds a Bachelor of Arts, in History, from the University of Maryland Baltimore County, where he was a Humanities Scholar. He also holds a Master of Arts, in 20th Century Irish History, from University College Dublin, Ireland. Mr. Schueller’s goal is to get students excited about Social Studies. He believes that students should know about their country, the world and how they are interconnected. Mr. Schueller also believes that the educational process should be relevant, inclusive and compassionate. When not in school or student teaching, Mr. Schueller enjoys playing music with others. He plays the guitar, Irish bouzouki and Irish tenor banjo. Mr. Schueller believes that music can bring people together and enrich lives.
Emily Ziobrowski Emily Ziobrowski graduated cum laude from The George Washington University in 2010 with a Bachelors Degree in English and Art History. In college, she participated in the In2Books program as a virtual pen pal to young readers around the country. She also supported literacy as a philanthropic cause through the Pi Beta Phi Fraternity for Women, taking part in various fundraisers and awareness campaigns. In the past, Emily ran the preschool Sunday School program at her church back at home in Massachusetts. Before deciding to pursue teaching as her career, Emily held internships at The American Heart Association, St. Jude Research Hospital, The Corcoran Gallery of Art, and the United States Mint.
