How to Apply for Admission

The George Washington University wants to help make your application process as direct and easy as possible. Applicants are expected to submit their applications through GW's online system, which maintains confidentiality through the assignment of a personal identification number and allows you to complete the application at your convenience.

  • GRE or Miller Analogies Test
  • Resume and statement of purpose
  • Official transcripts from each college attended
  • Two letters of reference
  • Writing sample
  • Statement of Purpose (make sure to refer to the Mid-Atlantic Teacher Institute in the first paragraph of your statement)

Applicants who use the online application may check their application status using the assigned PIN and password. This feature also allows applicants to see when a decision letter has been mailed.
